How Much Does Pool Service Cost in Las Vegas?
Every number on this page is a Las Vegas range to judge a quote by, not a quote. Vegas Pool Match is not a pool company. Prices change with pool size, equipment, how far a company drives to you, and how bad the water is on day one. Use these to tell whether a bid is in the normal range or needs a second opinion.
Weekly pool service: what it costs per month
Most Las Vegas companies bill monthly for a visit every week. In 2025 and 2026, published rates from Las Vegas companies run from about $120 to $200 a month for a standard backyard pool, with an Angi average for the city of $182 and a typical range of $99 to $284. Large pools, pools with attached spas, and homes in guard-gated communities where the tech loses time at the gate cost more.
| Service level | Las Vegas monthly range | What you usually get |
|---|---|---|
| Chemicals only | $90 to $140 | Test and balance water, add chlorine, acid, and conditioner. No brushing, skimming, or vacuuming. You empty baskets. |
| Chemicals plus light cleaning | $120 to $180 | Chemicals, skim the surface, brush walls and tile line, empty skimmer and pump baskets. |
| Full service | $150 to $250 or more | Everything above plus vacuuming, filter cleaning on a schedule, equipment check, and a problem report. |
Ask whether chemicals are included. Many full-service companies include standard chlorine and acid but charge extra for salt, conditioner, phosphate remover, and algaecide. A $140 quote that bills chemicals separately can cost more over a summer than a $170 quote that includes them.
One-time cleanups
A one-time cleaning of a pool that is still blue runs about $150 to $300 in Las Vegas. Green pools are priced by how bad they are, because the tech may need two to five visits over a week.
- Light green or cloudy, bottom visible: $150 to $350 for chemicals and follow-up visits.
- Dark green, bottom not visible: $350 to $800. A Henderson homeowner posted a dark green pool at $350 in 2025, and that is the low end.
- Black or swamp, or heavy algae on an old plaster surface: $800 to $1,500 or more, usually a drain, acid wash, and refill rather than a chemical recovery.
Draining is a real cost in Las Vegas. Refilling 15,000 gallons costs roughly $60 to $150 in water depending on your billing tier, and Clark County and the cities limit when you can drain to the street, so ask the company where the water is going.
Common repairs and what they run
Pool cleaning is commonly done by insured companies without a contractor license under Nevada's under-$1,000 maintenance exemption, but repairs and equipment replacement require one. Any repair quote should come from a company with a Nevada State Contractors Board license number, and you can check it at nscb.nv.gov. These ranges mix Las Vegas company price lists with national 2025 cost guides, adjusted for local labor.
| Repair | Installed range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Replace motor only on a single-speed pump | $350 to $700 | Only worth it if the pump body is under 10 years old. |
| New variable-speed pump | $1,200 to $2,500 | Required for most new pumps since 2021 federal rules. Cuts power use by half or more; a variable-speed pump costs about $150 a year to run at NV Energy rates. |
| Filter cartridge elements | $60 to $150 each, $250 to $500 for a 4-cartridge set | Every 2 to 3 years in Las Vegas dust. |
| DE filter grid set | $200 to $500 | Grids last 5 to 10 years. Torn grids send white DE powder back into the pool. |
| Sand change | $150 to $400 | Sand lasts 5 to 7 years. Rare on newer Las Vegas pools. |
| Heater igniter | $150 to $300 | Common failure after a heater sits unused. |
| Heater control board | $500 to $950 | If the heater is over 12 years old, ask for a replacement quote too. New heaters run $3,000 to $6,000. |
| Leak detection | $300 to $600 | Pressure test and dive. The repair itself runs $300 to $3,000 or more depending on whether it is a fitting, a light niche, or an underground line. |
| Acid wash | $350 to $800 plus drain and refill | Takes a thin layer of plaster off. Do it once or twice in a surface's life, not yearly. |
| Tile bead blast | $5 to $10 per linear foot, $475 minimum | A typical 80 to 120 foot tile line runs $500 to $1,000. Calcium comes back in 2 to 3 summers here. |
| Salt cell | $450 to $1,000 | Cells last 3 to 5 years. Hard water shortens that unless the cell is acid-cleaned regularly. |
How to keep a quote honest
- Get the monthly price in writing with a list of what is included and what is extra, especially chemicals and filter cleanings.
- Ask for the part brand and model on any repair. A $1,900 pump quote means something different for a Pentair IntelliFlo3 than for a no-name unit.
- For repairs, ask for the contractor license number and confirm it is active and the right classification.
- Ask what happens to your bill if the tech finds a problem. Good companies send a photo and a price before doing the work.
- Get two quotes on anything over $500. The gap between bids in Las Vegas is often 30 percent or more for the same job.
- Be suspicious of a monthly rate far below $120. It usually means a tech with too many stops, a chemicals-only visit sold as full service, or extra fees later.
